Hit So Hard is a rockumentary about Patty Schemel, the drummer for Hole. It deals with all the rock clichés, drugs, sex, hitting rock bottom, getting kicked out of the band ect… Ultimately it’s a story of redemption, going from the happening band of the year to living on the streets in next to no time and then back to the straight and narrow and the stability of normality. Despite this being more about Hole than Nirvana there’s more than enough footage to keep the average Nirvana fan happy. Whilst the rest of Hole came from LA, Schemel was a member of the Seattle music scene that crossed paths with Kurt Cobain prior to joining Hole and at one point was considered for the Nirvana role. Its clear from the amount of footage Patty Schemel has of Kurt Cobain that they had a close relationship. Can’t say the documentary does an awful lot for the ‘reputation’ of the bands lead singer though…
